Printable Bible Study for Kids: Illustrated Bible Study Guides

Today I’m sharing a printable Bible study for kids that provides a simple, flexible way to help children read Scripture, understand Bible stories, answer questions, practice memory verses, get creative, and connect what they learn to everyday life.

These illustrated Bible study guides, which I’ve added to my Etsy Store, add a creative element with colorful activities and Bible-themed coloring pages that help reinforce each lesson. Whether you’re a Christian parent, homeschool family, or Sunday school teacher, these printable Bible study guides for kids can make studying individual books of the Bible simple, interactive, and enjoyable.

How to Use an Illustrated Bible Study Guide for Kids

Using the guide is simple and can be adapted for family Bible study, homeschool, Sunday school, or individual study.

1. Read the Book Overview Page

Each Illustrated Bible Study Guide gives a book overview including authorship, outline, important events, and the overarching message (big idea).

2. Read the Bible, then read the Chapter Summary

Have your child read the chapter from the Bible, then the appropriate chapter summary. (These illustrated Bible Studies have chapter summaries and do not use a specific Bible version.)

3. Answer the Discussion Questions

Each Bible Study offers sample discussion questions for each chapter. You can talk through the questions together or let older children write their answers. Use the questions to encourage conversation about what the child learned.

5. Choose a Memory Verse

Choose a meaningful verse from the chapter and write it on the memory verse page. Children can decorate the page and practice the verse throughout the week.

6. Color and decorate the illustrations as you go!

You can color and decorate the illustrated Bible Study as you go, or at the end. However it works best with your kids!

7. Repeat for the Next Chapter

Continue the same process chapter by chapter until you’ve worked through the entire book of the Bible.

Example: Using the Guide for a Weekly Bible Study

Day 1: Go over the book summary (discuss authorship and overarching method) (color)
Day 2: Read the Bible chapter and read the chapter summary (discuss & color)
Day 3: Read the Bible chapter and read the chapter summary (discuss & color)
Day 4: Read the Bible chapter and read the chapter summary (discuss & color)
Day 5: Practice the memory verse and color
