Kid’s Nature Journal for Spring

1. Beautiful Butterflies
First thing we are going to look at in our Kid’s Spring Nature Journal are butterflies: their anatomy, life cycle, unique patterns, and symmetry. Some of the activities we plan to do are: explore and discover new butterflies, paint with watercolors, and attempt to grow plants that attract butterflies.

2. Spring Plants
Next we are going highlight a few common spring plants including dandelions, lilacs, pansies, and more. A few of the activities we plan to do are: forage for dandelions, make dandelion tea and lilac lemonade, and go on a nature walk to discover what’s growing.

3. Things Around the Pond
The next thing we are going to learn about in our Kid’s Spring Nature Journal are things around the pond. We want to explore the pond, attempt to catch a frog, observe ducks and their preening habits, and search for snail shells.

4. Birds of North America

The last thing we are going to explore in our Kid’s Nature Journal are farm families. We are going to make butter in a jar, design a chicken coop, and observe farm families and note similarities and differences.
