Need a few ideas of objects that start with X? Even though X has a limited supply of practical words, today I’m sharing a handful of objects that begin with the letter X that I think we can use.

Some of these objects that begin with X are somewhat obscure, especially for kids. However, there are a few familiar things like xylophone and x-ray machine that we can use for preschool activities and elementary vocabulary, as well as, some objects that contain the letter X instead of begin with it.

As for big or obscure words, let’s reserve those for word games, advanced writing, and those who pursue a sophisticated vocabulary. Here we go…50+ objects that start with X:

Finding objects that start with X for kindergarten and preschool is challenging. Since the list of common X items is limited, it’s ok to use words that contain X when you are teaching letter recognition and letter sounds.

Here are few familiar objects that start with, or contain, the letter X, that you can use to teach the alphabet:
