Happy December! Today I’m sharing some of our favorite picture books about Christmas along with a few activities to make them even more fun.

2. Polar Express– Spend the day traveling to the North pole, learning about trains, and sipping hot cocoa.



3. Charlie Brown Christmas– Help Charlie Brown find the meaning of Christmas. Maybe you’ll learn a thing or two about acting, decorating, and Baby Jesus.

  • Read  A Charlie Brown Christmas  by Charles Schultz
  • Let the kids decorate a small tree (or a sad little branch)
  • Here are some free Charlie Brown coloring sheets.
  • Watch A Charlie Brown Christmas with a big bowl of popcorn.




4. Christmas in a BarnThink about what it felt like to be born in a barn. What types of animals and sounds might you have heard?

  •  Read Christmas in a Barn by Margaret Wise Brown
  • You can make a felt manger scene and keep it out for the rest of the christmas
  •  Try to recreate the manger scene out of fruit.
