Our first daughter came out talking…not quite, but pretty much. To this day she can out talk just about anyone I know. By the time she was two, she was speaking in full sentences. Therefore, when her third birthday rolled around I had a little lightbulb moment… Why don’t I attempt to teach her how to read?
My kids are getting to the age that I’m trying to get them to engage in more independent activities (even if it is only for a few minutes).
My goal is not to entertain them but to prompt them to creativity and independence.

Every morning after breakfast, I lay the baby down for her morning nap then the other two kids and I snuggle on the couch for reading time.
