DIY Scented Dried Orange Garland

Popcorn strings and dried orange garland have made a come-back this year.  We decided to jump on the ban wagon and make a scented dried orange garland.

It’s not surprising that these old traditions are big this year. Everyone has spent a lot of time at home and are wanting to surround themselves with feelings of nostalgia and familiarity.

How to Make a Scented Dried Orange Garland

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

2. Slice the oranges 1/4 inch thick.

3. Place on cooling/baking racks and place into the oven.

4. Let them dehydrate for about 6-8hrs. Flip them over throughout the day. (I also left mine out on the counter overnight for further drying.)

5. Lay your dried oranges and beads out and determine how long you want to make your garland. Cut the amount of twill tape you need.

6. String the twill tape through your oranges and beads. Note: I am using my garland in a decorative box so this way of threading is perfect. However, If you want yours to hang with the oranges hanging face out, I would thread it differently. (Perhaps using thread and going through twice on the orange face.)

7.  Put a couple drops of your favorite essential oil onto each slice. (I used Young Living’s Christmas Blend)
